bohemiansugar asked: Do you think its better to drop a class but have to pay for a portion of it, or stick it out and risk lowering your gpa? My only problem would be finding the money to pay my scholarship organization for the class back.

definitely drop the class. your gpa is your best friend

Anonymous asked: do you suggest me going to bu or staying instate at the college of charleston

i applied to and visited the college of charleston… i’ve always liked BU better. also since charleston is in-state for you, going somewhere new could be a great experience

iamthegeek asked: I just got accepted to BU and I'm trying to decide which residence I want to live in. Is it hard for freshman to get into the brownstones? I'd really love the chance to live in a smaller dorm environment.

they leave some space in the brownstones for freshmen so you can definitely try, but i only know a few who lived in brownstones freshman year. but i recommend warren. you may think you want a small dorm environment but in a big dorm like warren or west, it’s so much easier to meet people and you really bond with your floor (most of the time).

Anonymous asked: i wont leave my room without make up, my hair done and a cute outfit... will i stick out in a classroom? i know a lot of people just wear sweats to class

Some people are just like that, it’s not a big deal. There’s nothing wrong with making a statement. If that’s how you feel comfortable, then go for it. And same goes for people who wear sweats to class every day.

Anonymous asked: I'm currently a sophomore in High School and I'm 14 years old. (I skipped a grade.) Currently, I'm set to start college at 16 and turn 17 in October, do you think that'll cause a lot of problems?

Wow that’s REALLY young. You might want to think about taking a year or two off before starting college. Aside from just the age difference between you and everyone around you, I know that I was a lot more mature when I was 18 than when I was 16. Being a college freshman at 16 seems a little overwhelming in my opinion, both socially and academically. But the great thing about this is that if you take time off to work/travel/do programs (that are ESPECIALLY for people taking gap years before college) is that you’ll have that experience without being set back a year, and when you start you’ll be around people your age.

Anonymous asked: I'm a southern girl going up north for grad school this fall, do you have any recommendations for good winter boots? I'm looking for something under about $200 and with lots of traction and at least semi-cute and non-bulky. Any suggestions would be wonderful!! I have no idea what people normally wear, andI don't want to end up looking like I'm about to go skiing haha. Thanks!

Pretty much everyone has Hunter boots up here. But mine are Marc Jacobs and I got them for about $40… They’re just plain black rubber boots. Good for rain/snow/slush. And they come in a lot of colors

And Uggs, obviously. For less slushy days. But nice and warm.

Anonymous asked: When you choose a major, does that also include a minor? How does that work?

No. If you want to declare a minor as well, you can.
